Everything you need to know before arriving at Trimbakeshwar for your pooja.
New clothes are mandatory for all poojas. They are readily available in Trimbakeshwar — keep costs moderate.
• Dhoti (traditional lower garment)
• Uparane (upper cloth / shoulder cloth)
• Baniyan (undershirt / vest)
• Underpants
• Saree and blouse
• Any color EXCEPT green and black
• Keep cost moderate — simple cotton or polyester is fine
For Rahu Kalsarpa Shanti and Tripindi Shraddha, the new clothes worn during the pooja MUST be left behind after the ritual. They cannot be taken home or reworn. Bring simple, inexpensive clothing specifically for this purpose.
Bring a written list of ancestor names and gotras for the following relations. Write them down before arriving — the priest will need this information during the ritual.

• Guru / spiritual teacher
• Unknown male name → use: Keshav, Madhav, or Narayan
• Unknown female name → use: Ganga, Yamuna, or Saraswati
• Unknown gotra → use: Kashyap
Arrive by 5:00 PM the day before the pooja starts. Accommodation and food for 2 people is included in the price for all 3 days. Extra family members: ₹1,000 per person for 3-day stay + food.
If you arrive after 10:00 PM, you will need to arrange your own stay and dinner for that night. The included accommodation begins the next morning.
Arrive the evening/night before your pooja date. Accommodation is NOT included — rooms are available nearby for approximately ₹600–800 per room. Food is provided on the day of the pooja only.
Park your vehicle in a government or private parking area BEFORE arriving at the house. The lanes near House No. 444, Ratan Gully are narrow — proceed on foot from the parking area. Do not try to drive up to the house.
